A dining-table extension slider
DDA developed a replacement slider/interface for a dining-table extension, followed by eight copies. A repair that began with one component became a small batch.
CUSTOM REPLACEMENT PARTS / NEW JERSEY & THE NORTHEAST
Broken, missing, or discontinued. DDA designs and makes custom replacement parts for equipment, furniture, and everyday repairs. Bring the part, the pieces, or the problem.
WHAT NEEDS REPLACING?
Possible applications, reviewed for the material, fit, and conditions of use.
BEFORE COMMISSIONING A CUSTOM PART
A tiny part can still need substantial design work. Compare that cost with the value of getting the item working again.
Custom work can make sense when an unavailable part keeps useful equipment, furniture, or a valued object out of use. Send photos and approximate dimensions so we can assess what is involved.
Design, material, quantity, and fit checks affect the quote. We review suitability before agreeing on the work.
For repeat orders, tell us the total quantity and likely future need. If a suitable ready-made part exists, compare its cost before commissioning a custom replacement.
PARTS WE’VE WORKED ON
FURNITURE
DDA developed a replacement slider/interface for a dining-table extension, followed by eight copies. A repair that began with one component became a small batch.
VEHICLE INTERIOR
A Porsche 911 GT3 cupholder/latch component is one of the replacement-part projects DDA has worked on. Small interior components can call for custom work when a suitable replacement is difficult to obtain.
RC RACING
DDA produced multiple sets of RC wheel spindle adapters, with iteration after the first set. The design work continued as the parts were refined.
COMMERCIAL PARTS
A safe-and-vault business returned for CAD work and small batches of functional components. DDA supported the design and fabrication across repeated requests.
CAD DESIGN & REVERSE ENGINEERING
A worn or broken original is a starting point. We work out which dimensions to preserve, which features to restore, and whether a change would make the replacement more useful.
Measure the original and the assembly it fits. Rebuild the mounting points, clearances, and features that matter. An intact matching part can help, too.
Missing a tab or a section of the original? We can discuss reconstructing that feature in CAD. A scan alone would also capture wear and damage.
Need a different attachment, more clearance, or a revised shape? We can discuss those changes while developing the replacement, with fit checks included in the agreed scope.
Complex shape? 3D scanning may help capture the original surface. Simple parts may be better measured directly.
CUSTOM 3D PRINTED REPLACEMENT PARTS
A cover, a flexible clip, and an outdoor mount ask different things of a material. We consider how the part is used before choosing the plastic and print setup.
RIGID PARTS
PETG, ABS, and other engineering plastics offer different properties for shaped parts. We review the load, temperature, geometry, and print orientation rather than choosing by appearance alone.
What to checkAttachment points, deflection under use, and any heat near the part.
Try the first replacement in the actual assembly before ordering the remaining copies. Revisions and additional testing should be agreed as part of the job.
We can also discuss flexible materials such as TPU and outdoor materials such as ASA. The exact material grade, geometry, and conditions determine suitability.
LASER-CUT REPLACEMENT PARTS
Covers, panels, and faceplates may be better cut from compatible sheet material. The outside shape, holes, and material thickness all need to match the job.
The shape and overall dimensions that fit the available space.
The location and size of mounting holes, slots, and cutouts.
The material and thickness that the surrounding assembly can accept.
Send a dimensioned drawing if you have one, preferably in millimeters. We review the sheet material, size, and cutting requirements before quoting.
Show us the assembly, mounting points, and any make, model, or part number. Photos can start the discussion. Physical access or reliable measurements may still be needed to develop the design.
Cost depends on design time, material, fabrication, quantity, and fit checks. A small part can take more modeling than its size suggests. Send photos, approximate dimensions, quantity, and intended use so we can discuss the scope.
That cannot be assumed. Material, shape, manufacturing method, and use all matter. Tell us about heat, load, chemicals, and the consequences of failure. Parts whose failure could cause injury or major damage need appropriate engineering and validation.
Yes. We review each request for technical feasibility, practicality, and legality. We may decline a project or suggest another provider when the job calls for capabilities beyond what we can reasonably offer.
Yes. We work with owners and businesses, including repair shops and maintenance teams. DDA has supported clients in New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and across the Northeast. Contact us before sending a sample so we can agree on delivery, measurements, and fit checks.
